A few months ago, my wife's TREK bicycle got destroyed in a cycling accident. I have never ridden in a Belgian Waffle Ride before, but a year ago, I got my Specialized Gravel eBike, and this April, I am participating in the 80-mile Waffer in San Diego, California. I contacted my State Farm homeowner's insurance for ebike insurance, but complete coverage for my gravel bike was impossible under their policy. I also looked into Markel Bike Insurance, but it was so expensive that I got turned off.

Bicycle insurance was another suggestion from my parents as we planned my upcoming cycling trips.

My local cycling bike club president sent a message advising that BikeInsure is the League of American Bicyclists' chosen Bike Insurance provider. As a California resident with an eBike, I decided to figure out appropriate coverage for my ride.

I'm on a flip phone. I'm not very tech savvy. When I need to order something from Amazon, I ask my son to place the order and pay him in cash.

So when my buddy saw my Cannondale eBike, he told me to sign up for BikeInsure. I went to the website and got it done because it was easy.
