I received a Canyon email this morning titled "Introducing Bike Insurance with BikeInsure. Ride protected."

I clicked through, and Canyon's bike insurance page made it incredibly easy to understand what bike insurance is and how it works. I had heard about bike insurance before, but until now I'd never made it a priority. Once I saw how simple it was, it was a no-brainer.

After clicking the Get BikeInsure button, the process was surprisingly easy, even at work from my mobile phone. Within minutes, my Canyon Ultimate CF was signed up. Shortly after, I received a welcome call from BikeInsure. They gave me a quick overview of my coverage and answered a few questions.

I’m in Indiana, where snow is on the way, but once it clears, I’ll be riding my Canyon Ultimate CF with peace of mind, knowing it’s protected by my new year-long BikeInsure policy.

Last September, I wanted to compare bike insurance with Markel and Velosurance for my Trek Madone. I went to the USA Cycling website and came across BikeInsure.

The USAC official bike insurance BikeInsure proved to be a better product at a better price for accident and theft coverage than the Markel Velosurance policy.

I am now a reviewer for BikeInsure because I had a bike accident at the Tour of Newport News, damaging my top tube, frame, saddle, and GoPro Hero 11. After getting an estimate from my TREK Bike Shop, I filed a claim with BikeInsure and received a check for $6,708.

I have had bike insurance on my Canyon Aeroad through Velosurance by Markel for about a year. When I saw Canyon's email about BikeInsure, I thought, I've gotta check my current Velosurance - Markel policy vs. BikeInsure to see which makes more sense.

What I noticed in my comparison is that with BikeInsure, the deductible is lower, the premiums are lower, and when reading the policies, the coverage is better with BikeInsure over Velosurance - Markel.

I have kiddos, so the opportunity to have bike insurance matters to me, and to be able to save some money made the BikeInsure decision even easier.
