No Immovable Object or Approved Lock Required for Bike Theft Coverage

No immovable object. No approved lock. Just secured.

BikeInsure does not require a bicycle or e-bike to be locked to an immovable object or secured with a specific approved lock to qualify for theft coverage.

Instead, BikeInsure uses a practical standard: the bicycle or e-bike must be secured with a physical locking device while unattended. A specific brand, model, or type of lock is not required. Electronic devices such as GPS trackers or alarms do not replace this requirement.

Unlike Velosurance, Markel, and Sundays — which require the bicycle to be locked to an immovable object — BikeInsure provides broader, real-world theft protection.

When optional Bike Theft Insurance is selected, and a properly secured bicycle or e-bike is stolen, the policy pays the replacement-cost value for equipment of substantially similar kind and quality — including listed accessories — less the $150 deductible, up to the Amount of Insurance on the policy.
