How does BikeInsure pay if I have a bike accident?
BikeInsure provides replacement-cost value coverage that pays to repair or replace the insured bicycle or e-bike, including listed accessories, with equipment of substantially similar kind and quality, without deduction for depreciation, up to the Item Amount of Insurance shown on the Declarations page, less the $150 deductible.
In most riding or transit accidents, the bicycle is repairable. The policy pays the cost to restore the insured equipment — the bicycle or e-bike and listed accessories — to its pre-loss condition using new OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) or equivalent parts, including labor and applicable tax, based on a written estimate from a local bike shop of the policyholder's choice, up to the Item Amount of Insurance, less the $150 deductible.
