The Crash

"It was the second stage of the Redlands Classic—a circuit race with about 180 riders. On the first lap, I had moved up into the front group, around the first 30 wheels.

I heard someone hit the barriers on the left side. Then the rider next to me had something happen and cut right in front of me. We overlapped wheels, he went down, and he and his bike came straight into me.

I crashed, and other riders ran into my Factor bike. I got back on it, but it wasn't working, so I had to take a neutral."
